Japanese Sandwich Festival – CAFE SOFA

Japanese Sandwich Festival

3.12.

Sandwiches are famous all over the world. Each country then creates a whole range of its own sandwiches to meet the demands and tastes of its inhabitants.
In the 1850s, western restaurants made sandwiches and cafe classics for foreigners living in Yokohama, Tokyo, Osaka, and Kobe. A few decades later, locals acquired the taste for sandwiches as seen in 1899 with the first sandwich bento boxes sold at Odawara Station in Kanagawa. Nowadays, you can find countless types of sweet and savory versions all over Japan, and now even purely Japanese variants.

You can look forward to Gyuniku Sando, Chicken Karaage Sando, Wanpaku Sando or Sumōkusāmon Sando with smoked salmon.
